HLGU renovating, reopening historic dorms for anticipated rise in enrollment | News

HANNIBAL — Two of Hannibal-LaGrange University’s historic dorms are being renovated and will reopen for the 2024-25 school year for an anticipated rise in enrollment.Pullium Hall, built in 1929, is one of three original buildings on the university’s campus. Crouch Hall was added in 1956. Cowan Masonry is repairing the bowed north foundation wall. (Submitted photo)Hidden along Second Street, it houses one of East Liverpool’s oldest potteries. Cowan Masonry was hired by the Ohio History Connection (OHC), owners of the building, to save this historic landmark. The building, along with the Museum of Ceramics, is OHC owned and operated locally by the Museum of Ceramics Foundation. A major structural failure of the main support beam, located in the basement, was discovered by OHC architect, Meta van Rabenau in August of 2023. McPherson Youth Center in Beverly receives $1 million for renovations | News

BEVERLY- As part of Massachusetts’ $175 million congressionally directed spending bill passed earlier this month, The McPherson Youth Center in Beverly will receive $1 million to renovate, modernize and expand the campus space to serve the city and neighboring town’s youth. Built more than 50 years ago, the Myles McPherson Youth Center is a collaboration with the City of Beverly and the Greater Beverly YMCA that supports the recreational and developmental needs of local youth.
