On the agenda at Wednesday’s (Nov. 8) council meeting was a decision whether or not Courtenay will pay to participate in a program called Home Energy Navigator. Renovation slated for Confederation Center of the Arts in PEI

CHARLOTTETOWN, PEI—Confederation Center of the Arts in Charlottetown will be revitalized to reduce the facility’s energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions. The federal and provincial governments are providing a combined investment of more than $47 million for the project. The renovations consist of upgrades to the heating, ventilation, air conditioning system, the installation of windows, insulation, lighting and meters and control equipment and new solar panels will also be installed. The interior will be reconfigured using mass timber for energy efficiency and lower carbon emissions.
